NFL DRAFT: Best Case / Worst Case              By: Shane P. Hallam
Barracuda Sports draft expert Shane P. Hallam shares his thoughts on NFL Draft.

There are scouting reports all over the internet for hundreds upon hundreds of prospects for this year’s NFL draft.  Instead of reciting the same strengths and weaknesses, I wanted to bring a unique twist to my rankings of players at each position.  Todays article will share, my views on them, my rankings of them, as well as the best case and worst case scenarios for each player.

A few items to note:  A comparison (best or worst case,) is never perfect as each player is unique.  But I tried to match up one or multiple aspects of a player’s game (size, strengths/weakness, talent, etc,) to a current (or recently pushed out of the league,) player who they could end up having production similar to in the best and worst case scenarios. Most players in the Top Ten of their position COULD become superstars.  Almost none will.  When I discuss best case scenarios, it is players at the peak of their career (so a Jamal Lewis comparison is as a best case would be his 2,000+ season,) and worst case is the low point of their career (so a Derek Anderson comparison is the inconsistent Derek Anderson last season).  I also take injuries and character concerns out of the comparison (both for the prospects and NFL players, so a best case of Todd Heap is a good thing).

As you read through this, be aware that most of these players fall somewhere between the best and worst case I think they can achieve.  Also, remember that these are MY rankings, not necessarily where I think they will go on draft day.  For that, you can tune in later for a few more mock drafts coming up.  But it is another piece to the puzzle to see the ceilings and floors of every prospect!
